Noah's ark in blue and pink - perfect for twins

I came across this idea when someone asked for matching blankets for a twin boy and girl. At the time I had nothing appropriate or two blankets that were vaguely similar to each other.

I like them, but they were never bought! (I will sell them separately too)

Irish fabric: large and soft blankets in pinks

A gorgeous (Irish turned Aussie) friend of mine knows my penchant for fabric and making baby blankets, and so bought me these two gorgeous varieties of a minky type fleece all the way from Hickey's fabric store in Ireland when she was last there.

It's taken me ages to decide what to do with them, and I am happy with the result including some fancy stitching, courtesy of my fabulous Janome. These are a larger size than my other blankets, measuring about 78 x 112cm (31 x 44 inches).

I loved them so much I made two of each and put one of each in the store and the other two in the cupboard for special gifts.

Creative catch up... starting with a baby boy blanket in bold colours

Despite it being a long time between posts, last year was not completely creation-free!

 

So over the next few weeks I will post a few of my projects and hopefully some new ones too.

 

 

So, without further ado....

 

 

I really love the rich colours and cute characters in this baby boy's blanket.

 

 

I have been trying consciously to add some boy flavoured items to my store, as it seems so easy to find beautiful girly fabrics and colours. Without trying too hard, I have been able to find some cute and bold boy prints.

Trying to restock the shop with a few items post Christmas! This uses up the last of my beautiful soft mink.

Lots of new ideas to try in 2012, just glad to be reacquainted with Janome for now, as it had been a while!

I thought I was done with baby blankets for now....

but I couldn't resist this watermelon red mink, it just had to become something!

So there is another one to be made yet, as I buy it in dimensions that means there must be two.... but it will have different backing. I just have to get around to finishing it.
