My pillowcase contribution
Here is my contribution to the Pillowcase drive I mentioned a while back. It was so easy I intend to do more as gifts.
I used the You Go Girl! posh pillowcase pattern (read: has the inner flappy bit to tuck the pillow away inside so you can't see the pillow end - love that) and modified it to make it a reversible pillow. You can turn this baby over and it's as pretty as the other side.

Noah's ark in blue and pink - perfect for twins
I came across this idea when someone asked for matching blankets for a twin boy and girl. At the time I had nothing appropriate or two blankets that were vaguely similar to each other.
I like them, but they were never bought! (I will sell them separately too)

Meet Darius and Dante
I used a Funky Friends Factory pattern to make these little blue friends, in contrasting spots. I made 4 in total, (2 of each) and the first one went to my nephew whilst recovering from surgery. One went to my own little boy and the other two went to special little guys on their first birthdays.
It was so great to find such a cute boy's softie.
Terrifyingly cute, hey?!

Special pillowcase project
I came across this worthy cause for special kids that could use some extra comfort. I am ashamed to admit that this idea has never occurred to me, as in ICU we prefer patients don't have their own pillows, as these can harbour nasty bugs, and quilt covers, pillowcases etc often get soiled and require frequent changing. However the idea that these kids receive a special handmade gift just for them and becomes a comfort item for hospital stays is fantastic, so I'm getting on board.
Have a look, you can get involved too, and you don't have to be able to sew. You can donate funds, or even decorate a pre-made pillowcase.
